The Exiled Prince Reloaded – Chapter 4: Who’s Caring for Whom?

Author Note: My first update for this in almost a year. I do not have the original sims used, so you get the revamped (v4) sims. I had to rebuild Sesiago’s apartment because I did not have that anymore either. Some things that I originally had I no longer have, so his apartment has a slightly different look to it (but not by much). I was going to write a little bit more on it, but decided to keep it short and finish it in the next chapter.

His head was pounding as he reached out for Tationy’s warmth only to grab an armful of pillow. He had been tense all night. Laying next to her did nothing to quench the intense attraction he had. He did not know the details. He knew that she had been raped and beaten by Hiko and discarded. Sesiago spent the whole night thinking about it. He replayed it over and over how he thought it happened and why. He was certain part of it was because of him. He had been with Hiko’s treasure. Hiko gave her the leeway to do as she pleased, though not the permission.

He forced himself to sit up, glancing around his empty bedroom. “Tationy?” He called out her name, but got no response. Fear overtook him as he rushed from his room repeatedly calling out to her. He was afraid Hiko had come and taken her away. He checked every room before darting down the stairs and stopped suddenly. There she stood by the window, looking out at the foul weather. His heart was beating so fast.

Her voice was a soft whisper, “Are you alright?”

Sesiago smiled, releasing all the tension from his body with a sigh, “I should be asking you that. What are you doing up?”

“I just felt restless…” Her voice trailed off.

Trying to not stare at her he casually looked around his apartment, realizing quickly what she had been doing with her time. Laughing he asked, “Did not like my decorating?”

“No, it was fine. I was just…I have all of this pent up energy. I just needed to do something.”

“So you changed my apartment around?”

“Only the things I could actually move on my own. Are you mad?”

“No, it looks good.” He paused as he cautiously took a step toward her. “You cut your hair.”

Her response sounded at first like she wanted to say something, but ended up coming out more like an uncertain sigh. There were a few times she nervously looked away and opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. He was not going to press her to tell him. Eventually she spoke up, “At one point he was behind me and kept pulling my hair as he….” She had paused her breath soft little uncertain pants, “Pushed into me. I just started cutting and had to force myself to stop. My mother used to make me grow it out, she said that long hair was beautiful and prized. It was down to the back of my knees so I always wore it up because it got in the way a lot. It hurt so much and he kept pulling on it and pushing into me and….” She stopped talking suddenly, “I am sorry I am repeating myself and rambling.”

Sesiago had to control his anger and did his best to keep his voice calming, “It is alright. Talk to me, I will listen and it is okay if you ramble and repeat yourself. I don’t mind.”

“I am sorry.”

“You have nothing to be sorry for.”

“I cheated on him with you. I am a terrible person. I probably deserved…”

“Don’t say you deserved it. No one deserves to be treated like that. I am sorry, I antagonized Hiko. I thought if my father thought you were my girlfriend and seen you on the auction block he and my uncle would remove you. I never suspected that Hiko would go this far. There were many girls before you and I have thought often about how to help them, but you were the first one that I…anyway I messed it up and you got hurt. I am so sorry.”

Her laugh sounded as though she was going to cry, but no tears were falling. He expected her to react more after what had happened, but she was amazingly strong though her laugh caught him off guard, “I did break you.”

He bowed his head chuckling when he realized why she had laughed. He had apologized again. He had told her that Kari men were not brought up to apologize and yet that seemed to be all he was doing as of late.

“It seems you have.” They both grew quiet and stared at each other for some time. “I think I will take a shower and…”

“I will make us some breakfast.” She interrupted.

“You don’t have to.”

“It is the least I can do to repay your kindness.”

Sesiago reluctantly bit his tongue making his way toward the bathroom. He noticed instantly how clean it was and there was an extra toothbrush in the cup. He smiled, thinking to himself she must have snooped through everything in his house. He did not mind, in fact he was glad she felt comfortable enough to make herself at home and it was not as though he had been hiding anything. He always kept extras of everything just in case he had company though, this was the first time he actually recalled having someone stay over. He looked himself over in the mirror and chuckled when he realized the seat was down. It was the little things that he might not have paid any attention to before, but was acutely aware of with her at his apartment.

He had turned about preparing to disrobe, but suddenly found himself turning back toward the mirror. He tilted his head to the side and then to the other side before opening one of the drawers on the cabinet. Hiko had always rebelled against the old Kari ways, for that matter so did Iashi. When he was growing up his father always taught him the importance of the little things Kari men were meant to do, such as keeping their hair long. As he thought about it, he realized he was the only Kari among them that even continued on with the old ways. He wondered why there was a double standard and probably would never have even considered it had it not been for the fact that Tationy had cut her hair. He sighed as he grabbed onto his ponytail and cut a portion of it off.

He had a lot of time to think in the shower about what he wanted to do about the situation with Hiko. The one thing he was certain of was that he was not going to allow Hiko to hurt Tationy again. Sesiago did not believe he could stop Hiko from doing as he wished, the man had too much power and influence in the world. “Sesiago.” He heard her call out his name, but anything she said after that was muffled by the running water.

“I will be out in a moment.”

Sesiago tried to enjoy the last little bit of his shower before pulling himself away from the warmth of the water, dressing, and making his way downstairs. “I laid some clothes out for you on the bed, they might be a little big…” He chuckled under his breath when he realized she was staring intently at a measuring cup. “We should go and see about getting you a pair of glasses so you can see something.”

“You don’t have to do anything like that, it is alright. I will manage.”

She was putting up a wall between them again, “Did you need something when I was in the shower, I thought I heard you call my name.”

“Your cellphone was ringing, I did not know if you wanted to answer it or not.”

“Oh, who was it?”

“I did not look.”

“You could have.” He told her simply as he moved toward the counter to grab up his cell. He pressed a few buttons, placing his phone to his ear as he listened to his messages before dialing his phone to make a call. “Hey, sorry for taking off like that. Something came up….No I don’t plan on coming back to the island any time soon. Have Seiji handle the meetings there with Hiko….Yayoi, make certain that everything is dealt with, I would not put it passed Hiko to make a push against Shima interest.” He did not even say goodbye when he hung up and the entire time he was on the phone he kept his eyes fixed on Tationy who was making them something for breakfast.

“Are you going to just keep staring at me like that?”

“Sorry, I …”

“You could get us some plates and silverware.”

“Of course.” He responded moving to grab what was needed. She fixed them both plates of rice and eggs before seating them at the bar. “You should probably head back to the island and deal with business.”

“No, the most important place for me to be is here with you.”

“Why did you cut your hair?”

He thought about his answer before responding, “Think of it as a new beginning for the two of us.”

Sesiago could hear it in her voice, she was smiling, “I like it.”

“I like yours.” He responded, but did not look toward her. He kept his eyes fixed on his plate. “I think we should go and get some shopping done. Get you a few things to wear and take care of getting you new identification and at least a pair of glasses. We can worry about new contacts later on. We should probably see about getting you a small place, unless you do not mind staying with me.” He tried to not make his voice sound hopefully, but he knew he failed at it. He wanted to keep her close to him.

She had not responded, simply pushed her chair back and took her plate to the sink. He wanted to know if that was a yes or a no, but he would not press the issue. Eventually she turned to face him, leaning against the counter, “I don’t want to impose.”

“You wouldn’t be.” He paused a moment when he saw a glint of something in her eyes. “You worried I am like Hiko?”

“When we met you yelled at me, dragged me back to Hiko’s house, then told your father and uncle I was your girlfriend, and you stuck your finger….”

“I thought you were a reporter. There have been rumors about the Shima Corporation and Kari Foundation merging, so cameras have been around me a lot lately. I dragged you to the house because I could not believe you were Hiko’s girl. Certainly you are beautiful, but Hiko don’t usually date girls like you. He tends to go for porn-stars and models, and you are a subtle beauty. I thought the best way to protect you were if my father and uncle thought you were my girlfriend. I did not make the best decision, I probably should have just bought you at the auction.” He took a breath in, “I would be lying if I told you I did not enjoy my finger being in you. I enjoyed seeing that look on your face of surprise and that soft little blush come to your cheeks. I would do it a hundred times if you would let me just to see that look, but you obviously did not like me doing that, so I will not.”

“It was not that.”

“So you did like it?”

“Can we talk about something else?” She asked with a blush as she looked away.

Sesiago smiled, “We can discuss anything you want.”

“Maybe I will go and get dressed first.” He was not surprised when she quickly disappeared. It was going to be an uphill battle to get her to trust him.

Sesiago finished his food in silence, washed his dish, and then slumped onto the couch. He leaned his head back staring up at the ceiling. She was taking her time. He always heard girls were slow to get moving, but he never really had one in his life for very long. He was certain she had her reasons for taking her time. He deduced that she was taking any time alone she got as an opportunity to take it all in and react. When he finally heard her coming down the stairs and stopping nearby he lifted his head to look at her. He could not imagine a girl like her not realizing how beautiful she was. The first thing he noticed about her was that she was tall. He stood five feet and eleven inches and she was not even an inch shorter than he was. He imagined she got picked on in school, despite her beauty, she was probably taller than all of the boys. His old clothing that long since stopped fitting him, hugged her curves in all the right places. They hid nothing. “Do I look alright?”

“You look perfect.”

“Despite the bruises on my face right?”

“Gives you character.” He told her.

He watched her fidget a moment before she moved toward the couch to sit next to him. “You and Hiko have the same bracelet.”

Sesiago covered it with his hand a moment, “All the men of the Kari have them. If it bothers you I can take it off.”

“No, that is not necessary.”

They just met the day before and now here they were sitting in his apartment in Bridgeport. He turned his head and smiled at her, “You are really tall.”

“You don’t like being tall?”

“Not really. I am usually taller than all the girls I meet and even some of the men. You always get that guy that makes that ‘smart’ comment about wanting to look down at his woman.”

“Well some men are dicks.” Sesiago responded, “I think you are beautiful and I like how tall you are.”

“Thank you.”

“Do you work out?”

“I didn’t use to, but Hiko signed me up for a gym membership when we first got together and well you know I found I had a lot of free-time, so I started going.”

“Maybe we can workout together sometime.”

“Just what I need for you to see me all hot and sweaty.”

“Technically, I have already seen you…” He cut himself off.

“You don’t have to do that. It is alright.”

“I just don’t want you to feel like I am pressuring you when I say things like that. I just want you to be comfortable.”

“You worry too much.” She told him simply.

He laughed, “Why do I get the feeling that you are taking care of me, rather than me taking care of you?”

“Because I am.” She responded.

Her smile practically brightened up the room and he could not help it, he smiled back. “So after we do some shopping, do you want to watch a movie or something?”

“I don’t know. I have not really decided how I feel about going out of the house to begin with, let alone like this.”

“You look beautiful.”

“Thank you, but people are going to see my face and make assumptions about me and about you.”

“It will be alright.”

“What if a reporter sees us?”

Sesiago considered it a moment then stood up, offering her his hand, “I will tell them that I have jealous girlfriend.” For the most part he was joking and expected her to get mad at him for making light of the situation, but instead she cautiously took his offered hand. “Is this your way of affirming your jealous nature?”

“I don’t know. I have never been given a reason to be jealous.”

He opened his mouth to tell her that he would never give her any reason to feel such emotions, but instead he held back his words, “We should probably head out.”

They spent the day shopping for anything Tationy might need as well as seeing what they needed to do to get her identification situated. “I will have my people work on getting you new identification cards as quickly as possible,” Sesiago said as he stood by the ticket terminal. “Are you sure you want to watch a scary movie?”

“I am sure, but if you want to watch something else…”

“No I am just making sure. I thought girls were supposed to like those romantic comedy movies.” She made a sound that probably went along with the wrinkled nose that Sesiago turned and caught sight of. “You don’t like romantic comedies?”

“Not really.”

“I don’t either.”

“You said…oh I see. You were just saying you were up for watching anything.”

Sesiago laughed softly, giving a casual shrug of his shoulders. “You caught me.”

They made their way into the theater, looking around they found that it was just the two of them. “You sure you don’t want any popcorn or anything.”

“I am alright. I might be hungry afterwards, but right now I am still full from breakfast.”

The two got silent and watched the trivia play across the screen, “Hmm, Christians Slater’s father in True Romance. I don’t think I have seen that movie.”

“Dennis Hopper.” Tationy responded.

“Well would you look at that. You are pretty good at this.”

“I have seen a lot of movies.” She responded as she turned to face him.

He chuckled his attention drawing toward her, “I guess so…” His words were cut off when her lips settled upon his. He told himself to stay relaxed and not get sucked in by it as his hand moved to rest along her back. He did not force the kiss or deepen it, he let her lead the direction.

It did not take him long to get much to involved in the kiss then he intended. His arm draped around her shoulder, his other hand encircled her waist. He could feel himself wanting to rush things, so he forced himself to pull back breaking their kiss. “I’m sorry.”

“What are you sorry for?” She questioned.

“I shouldn’t have.”

“I kissed you.”

“Why did you kiss me?” He asked as he swallowed a well-formed lump that appeared at the back of his throat.

“I just needed to feel your gentleness.”

He rested his head against hers. “You need time to heal, you don’t have to rush things.”

“Is that what you think I am doing?”

“No, I just…don’t want you to hate me.”

“I kissed you.” She whispered, “I just needed to be reminded that a man can be gentle and you were so amazing…” She stopped talking when other voices could be heard in the theater they were sitting.
